Cumulus congestus

What is cumulus congestus clouds? They achieve considerable vertical development in areas of deep, moist convection. They are an intermediate stage between cumulus mediocris and cumulonimbus.

In the tropics, they often relea. We’ve already determined the cloud is tall and growing.

While the cloud base is obscured by the treeline, we can make a judgement call that the cloud is taller than it is wide. Viewed from below, it has a relatively dark base, which is nearly horizontal and fairly often ragged. Under the base, visibility is goo except during precipitation.

Turbulence is usually strong. As they develop further, they transform into cumulonimbus clouds and sometimes carry light rain with them but once they are transformed into cumulonimbus clouds , one can expect thunderstorms, lightening and hail as well. They usually have pronounced vertical developments and sharp outline.

Sometimes this cloud formation may appear as tower like clouds which appear to also have cauliflower aspects such as the shape of the cauliflower head.

The tops of these clouds are mostly brilliant white tufts when lit by the Sun,. Their name derives from the Latin cumulo -, meaning heap or pile. Towering cumulus (TCu) -aviation term for WMO genus and species cumulus congestus , a large cumulus cloud with great vertical development, usually with a cauliflower-like appearance, but lacking the characteristic anvil of a Cb. Wall cloud (informal term) – distinctive fairly large lowering of the rain-free base of a Cb, often rotating. Cumulonimbus clouds are also called thunderstorms, since they usually have lightning and thunder associated with them.

Mainly in the Tropics Tropics, cumulus congestus may produce abundant precipitation precipitation. The largest of the four possible species of Cumulus, congestus can develop from the smaller humilis and mediocris species when the atmospheric conditions are ‘unstable’. Once they become cumulonimbus clouds, thunderstorms with rain, hail, thunder and lightning can occur. When the visibility is clear, there is not a deck of low clouds, and there is intense convective from the surface then there is the setup to view some amazing cumulus congestus.

The storm is in the developmental stage. Crecimiento de cúmulos de primavera. El viento del nordés no permite que se desarrollen cumulonimbus y corta las cabezas de los cúmulos en su fase de congestus.

La especie de nube congestus. Cumulus from the convective lifting of air. It may be due to surface heating, but it might also be from orographic lifting by the mountians.

The species congestus is unique to. It is found that cumulus congestus plays a dominant role in moistening the lower to middle troposphere and spinning up the near-surface circulation prior to genesis, while deep convection plays a key role in moistening the upper troposphere and intensifying the cyclonic circulation over a deep layer. I also had an unexpected visitor that was in the shot for a while. He was talking to the owners of. Stratocumulus castellanus.

A cumulus cloud that resembles the head of a cauliflower is called “towering cumulus ” or “ cumulus congestus ”. Jeho dalším stadiem je cumulonimbus (bouřkový oblak). V létě se tyto oblaky vyskytují v závislosti na vysoké teplotě a dusném počasí. Z cumulu congestu převážně nevypadávají srážky.
